You may have heard it said that as a society, we are only 3 days of empty shelves away from civil disorder. Do you think that’s true?
What are the top few things you have a tendency to grumble or complain about?
What is the difference between complaining and having a grumbling or complaining spirit?
The grumbling of the Israelites showed a general lack of faith. Are there instances you can think of where complaining shows a lack of faith in God and his ability?
Read Hebrews 11:1-3. How can you have faith in something that is “unseen?”
Read Exodus 15:25b - 26. What does God lay out to the Israelites as the conditions for protection? What sort of heart condition do these actions come out of?
The Israelites had the inability to see God’s provisions in the past. We struggle with this as well. What are ways that you can be consistently reminded of the things God has done? How will you make sure they are not forgotten?
In this passage, God revealed himself as Yahweh Rophe, the God who heals. Describe a time that God turned a bitter relationship or situation into a sweet one. How long did it take? What did you learn from the experience?
What current bitter relationship or situation needs a sweetening miracle from God?
