WHAT TO EXPECT
The first thing you will notice about Ness Baptist is that we are a community church. Sturgeon Heights High School is across the street and we share a back lane with neighborhood homes. Ness has been a part of the St. James DNA since 1969. Our multi-generational and diverse congregation is friendly and welcoming, committed to loving God and others.

A SUNDAY MORNING
When you visit Ness, you will be welcomed with warm, genuine smiles from our friendly greeters! The Café area opens just before 10:00 am with fresh ground coffee, tea, juice, and homemade cookies. With children scurrying between legs, youth of all generations (especially our seniors) catch up and take time to pray for each other. This is a great opportunity to be welcomed into the fabric of our Ness family and to share stories and struggles with each other. We are a community committed to loving God and loving each other. You will likely see a few military members on Sunday mornings. Ness is a 5 minute drive from 17 Wing base, making us a natural landing strip for Canadian Forces service people and their families.
We value intergenerational worship at Ness. Children spend time in the service with their parents, participating in song, prayer, and congregational worship before being dismissed to age-specific classes in Kid Zone before the sermon. Our beautiful nursery, staffed with caring volunteers, is available for families with newborns to children three years of age. A spacious and comfortable loft area, complete with audio and a view of the service is available for nursing mothers. We practice the Lord’s supper once a month following the sermon, where families are encouraged to participate together. Parents are given the opportunity to sign their children out of KidZone to take part in communion as a family and to witness and celebrate baptisms as a church community. At Ness, we are committed to walking through the Bible in an expositional manner. Sermon series and KidZone teachings systematically walk through books of the Bible.
AFTER SUNDAY MORNING
The service typically wraps up around 12:00 noon with a final song. Many people linger afterwards, enjoying conversation and fellowship. Our pastors and elder couples are always available for prayer at the front of the church following our worship services.
We would love to meet you and welcome you into our community at Ness!
