A Weekly update for our Ness Community
JULY 30, 2026
☼ HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
The theme of our Summer in the Psalms this week is “The Lord is my Refuge & Strength”. When you think about your own experiences, how does that statement ring true for you? Psalm 66:20 says “Blessed be God, because he has not rejected my prayer or removed his steadfast love from me!” It’s so comforting that our refuge and strength lies in the One who is always steadfast!
Here’s some highlights for us going into this weekend:
🏕️ Men and Teen Guys Head to the Events section and sign up for the Men’s weekend! This helps with everyone’s planning so the sooner you can sign up the better. More details have also been added to the calendar event. for details.
💛 Each year Grant Church hosts a mini-conference “Improve Your Serve” This year, the invitation has been extended to Ness. Lunch and Childcare is provided. If you’ve been challenged to grow in serving alongside our church this year, then this conference is a great opportunity to come alongside and learn from and with others who are also desiring to grow in service. Afraid you won’t know anyone? No fear—Pastor Jeremy will be there hosting one of the workshops, plus this is a great opportunity to grab a friend you’d like to serve with and sign up together. Sign-Ups open in August and close when space is full, so be sure to watch for that to open up. Head to the calendar of events to get the details.
💌 A Marriage Course at Ness? Yes! Last week Pastor Jeremy announced that we’ll be hosting Alpha’s “The Marriage Course” at Ness. This will take place Thursday Evenings from 7-9 from September 24th-November 5th. All of the details are available in the calendar, through the events link.

Our worship time begins with an opportunity for giving and to thank God for all He has provided for us.
Giving in person lets everyone take part and also models the practice of tithing to our children.
Individuals who wish to give in person should include your name and address on your envelope so a number can be assigned to you. Tax receipts are sent in January following the calendar year.

KIDZ CORNER
Not just for kids!
Adults and kids alike are welcome to download the coloring pages, watch the videos, and keep up with what’s happening in KidZone this summer. It’s a really beautiful curriculum from the creators of the Biggest Bible Storybook, and they’re learning about the prophets. Don’t worry, it’s not a spoiler. The class doesn’t intend to use these parts regularly so it is just a fun way to keep engaged at home over the summer, and hopefully spark some great dinner table conversations with your families.
CHILD DEDICATIONS
Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a gift from the Lord”. Child dedications are an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of children, to recognize and commit this gift to His care, and to commit to raising our children in His ways, with the help of our church family. The church also joins in this commitment to love, support, and pray for the children of our Ness community.
If you are interested in having your child DEDICATED, please fill out this form to let us know ►

Our team we love to call the “Muscle Crew” could really use some extra hands for event setup. It’s usually a very quick task to setup or tear down but as the saying goes — “Many hands make light work”. If this is a way you can serve, speak to Jon Chapman or email the office to get connected.
-
This team could use a couple more people to join the rotation. If this is something you feel God might be calling you to serve in, please speak to Krista Antonio and/or Jordan Dalzell. Reach out to the office for contact information if required.
-
Helping Hands has paused until fall. This group meets on Thursdays bi-weekly for coffee, fellowship & crafting. Bring a project or join in on quilt making projects supporting local groups in need. Contact Debbie Giesbrecht, Marilyn Walde or the office to connect for the fall.
-
Life Groups are now on break for the summer, and will resume in the fall. If you are not currently in a life group, email the office to get connected in a Life Group this fall. Life Groups are a great way to grow in faith through fellowship with other believers in your church family. If you’d like to host a group in the fall, those opportunities are available as well. We’d love to hear from you. A special thank you to all of our current Life Group Hosts and Leaders!
Want to serve, but need an introduction to a ministry leader? Contact the office to be introduced and make the connection!
♫ WORSHIP SPACE
SUMMER IN THE PSALMS
Our worship teams are leading us through the Psalms this summer as we worship together. We’re choosing songs inspired by the Psalms, and for our congregational readings we will read Psalms together. Do you know a song that reflects on, or is inspired by the Psalms? Email Krista or the office to share your song suggestion.

Sunday’s Congregational Reading repeatedly reminds us of the Awesome God we serve, so it’s only fitting that we join voices to declare the chorus of this song “Our God is an Awesome God, He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power and love, Our God is an awesome God!”

A favourite hymn that reminds us of the awe we experience in knowing the God of the universe. “Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy hands have made. This is one of the most sung songs at Ness of late, and with good reason. A song that describes Psalm 66 well: “God is worthy of my song, Countless are His awesome deeds, His mighty hand has parted raging seas, For those He loves, He has redeemed”
