Our worship time begins with an opportunity for giving and to thank God for all He has provided for us.
Giving in person lets everyone take part and also models the practice of tithing to our children.
On the last Sunday of each month, we also take a benevolent offering. These funds are used to help individual needs within our community. Benevolent offerings should be clearly marked for Benevolence so that we can allocate them accordingly.
Individuals who wish to give in person should include your name and address on your envelope so a number can be assigned to you. Tax receipts are sent in January following the calendar year.
-
Each week we read a congregational reading together.
We are currently going through reading a portion from the Psalms each week, for the Summer. The Psalms serve to remind us of God’s faithfulness, and lead us to worship with joy and gratitude for the ways in which he works in our lives.
-
It is important for us to have our children see and learn the way we worship. It is also important for them to be given space to learn from the Bible in a way that is simple for them to understand, so that from a young age they can grow to know the mighty God that we gather for.
Children up to Grade 5 (Grade 3 in the Summer) begin in the service with us and then are dismissed to go to their classes after the congregational reading. Parents should take their children to Kidzone to sign them in.
Nursery is available for children up to age 3. The nursery is open before the service, and children are welcome to be checked into the Nursery at any time before or during the service. There is also a loft for parents with small children to watch and hear the service from a quiet space.
On Communion Sunday kids are dismissed a little earlier in the worship service so that they can join us again for communion. Parents will be dismissed to collect children before communion takes place, on these Sundays.
-
Each week one of our elders leads the church in a time of intercessory prayer for a specific need of our church or community.
-
Each week our Scripture is read by someone in our congregation who has been requested to serve in this way. Engaging our Ness Family is important to us.
We typically read from the English Standard Version (ESV) although sometimes other translations are used instead or as well.
-
Our message each week comes from the Bible. Usually messages at Ness are following a study through a certain book of scripture although we sometimes have guest speakers who will give a stand-alone message.
The following Series are currently running:
Pastor Jeremy (Lead Pastor)
The Way of Discipleship, The Gospel of MarkPastor Marcus (Associate Pastor)
Meeting God in Genesis, GenesisJairo Do Nascimento (Elder)
Beliefs & Behaviours, Titus -
The service closes with a benediction from the Pastor or Speaker. After the service many people mingle and fellowship.
PRAYER IS AVAILABLE AFTER THE SERVICE

Behold Christ
As we enter into the fall thanksgiving season, we’re looking at a theme of Beholding Christ. This theme will carry us into our next season which will be Advent, with gratitude and awe. Expect to see this theme woven into our songs and our congregational readings over the coming months.
Here’s what we’re singing this Sunday:
-
Come all you weary
Come all you thirsty
Come to the well
That never runs dry
Drink of the water
Come and thirst no moreWell, come all you sinners
Come find His mercy
Come to the table
He will satisfy
Taste of His goodness
Find what you're looking forFor God so loved
The world that He gave us
His one and only
Son to save us
Whoever believes in Him
Will live foreverBring all your failures
Bring your addictions
Come lay them down
At the foot of the cross
Jesus is waiting there
With open arms
See His open armsFor God so loved
The world that He gave us
His one and only
Son to save us
Whoever believes in Him
Will live foreverThe power of hell
Forever defeated
Now it is well
I'm walking in freedom
For God so loved
God so loved the worldPraise God
Praise God
From whom all blessings flow
Praise Him
Praise Him
For the wonders of His love (praise God)Praise God

Come out of sadness
From wherever you've been
Come broken hearted
Let rescue begin
Come find your mercy
Oh, sinner come kneel
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't heal
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't healSo lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh, wanderer come home
You're not too far
So lay down your hurt
Lay down your heart
Come as you areThere's hope for the hopeless
And all those who've strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There's rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That heaven can't cureSo lay down your burdens
Lay down your shame
All who are broken
Lift up your face
Oh, wanderer come home
You're not too far
Lay down your hurt lay down your heart
Come as you are
Come as you are
Fall in his arms
Come as you are
There's joy for the mourning
Oh, sinner be still

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayerOh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayerHave we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayerCan we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer -
My worth is not in what I own
Not in the strength of flesh and bone
But in the costly wounds of love
At the crossMy worth is not in skill or name
In win or lose, in pride or shame
But in the blood of Christ that flowed
At the crossI rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him aloneAs summer flowers, we fade and die
Fame, youth, and beauty hurry by
But life eternal calls to us
At the crossI will not boast in wealth or might
Or human wisdom's fleeting light
But I will boast in knowing Christ
At the crossI rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him aloneTwo wonders here that I confess
My worth and my unworthiness
My value fixed, my ransom paid
At the crossI rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him aloneI rejoice in my Redeemer
Greatest treasure, wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other
My soul is satisfied in Him alone -
Christ is my reward
And all of my devotion
Now there's nothing in this world
That could ever satisfyThrough every trial
My soul will sing
No turning back
I've been set freeChrist is enough for me
Christ is enough for me
Everything I need is in You
Everything I needChrist my all in all
The joy of my salvation
And this hope will never fail
Heaven is our homeThrough every storm
My soul will sing
Jesus is here
To God be the gloryChrist is enough for me
Christ is enough for me
Everything I need is in You
Everything I needI have decided to follow Jesus

KIDZ CORNER
KIDZONE UP TO GRADE 5!
Kidzone teachers have been hard at work preparing for the new season. This Sunday Kidzone starts back up for all kids ages 3-Grade 5. A reminder that Nursery is always available for children under 3.
Keep up with what’s happening in Kidzone and use these prompts to help prepare for this Sunday’s lesson.
CHILD DEDICATIONS
Child Dedications are a time to thank God for the gift of children and to commit to raising them in the ways of God. It also allows your church committment to make the same committment to lead and guide your children faithfully, and to pray for your family as you carry this responsibility. Sign Up if you would like to have your child dedicated at the next Child Dedication Service.

Summer Youth Scholarship Update
This year we supported a number of Youth and Young Adults who served in various Camp Ministries over the summer through our Summer Youth Scholarship program.
The scholarship is a small token of encouragement ($25-$50 for each week of ministry) and goes to the respective camps where it can be distributed to those who served. We appreciate our young people and hope this encourages them and helps with any costs associated with doing Summer Camp Ministry. See the attached video in case you missed it in church.
THANKSGIVING OFFERING Update
Thank you to all who gave towards the Thanksgiving Offering.
We received over $6000 which will go towards helping to lower the cost of attendance and provide for those needing financial assistance.
The Ness Youth Winter Retreat is now funded at almost 50% of the total cost. We're planning a great retreat to dive deeper into scripture and connection with Christ and the Youth. Please continue to pray for the Ness Youth Winter Retreat! If you would still like to give towards it financially, mark any future giving "Youth Retreat."

The following roles are currently available. SIGN UP TO SERVE HERE ►
The Audio/Video Team could use a couple more people to join the rotation.
Feeling Creative? The Creative Arts committee could be a great fit for you. This team helps support special events such as the Christmas Program.
Our team we lovingly call the “Muscle Crew” could really use some extra hands for event setup. It’s usually a very quick task to setup or tear down but as the saying goes — “Many hands make light work”. If this is a way you can serve, let us know.
The Coffee Bar could use an extra person to help with their ministry. This person should be gifted with hospitality, able to make light conversation with new guests, and a capable ambassador of our church.
KidZone is looking for a Classroom Helper. this is not a teaching role. This person would be helping with child and teacher needs as required. A vulnerable sector check will need to be ordered by the office before you can serve in this ministry.
