ABOUT WINTER YOUTH RETREAT

THE THEME

The theme of the 2025 Winter youth retreat is Olympics! Our hope is that our youth and any friends that they bring will enjoy a weekend where the Scriptures, sessions, activities and even some of the songs are on the theme of Olympics. We’ll be diving deeply and exegetically into passages like :

  • Exodus 32:26 Who’s Your Team Leader?

  • Philippians 3:7-14 Our True Prize

  • Hebrews 12 How Do We Race?

  • Galatians 5 Freedom to Walk

  • Luke 19:1-10 What is Jesus’ Mission?

  • Revelation 12:7-12 You’ve Already Won

Games we will be playing include:

  • Toboggan Craft and Race

  • Human Curling

  • Nerf Biathlon

  • and more!

WHAT IS A SESSION?

A session is a set aside time that is for worshiping the Lord. We worship through gathering, playing games, singing songs, prayer, reading scripture, participating in the teaching, and contemplating God’s Word in our heart.

FAQs

  • I have no clue. Please let me know you want to join! We have about 60 Youth ages 12-18 in our youth group and 13 Adult Leaders are confirmed to go.

My hope is that we see all of our youth, but probably 40 youth will make it out to Winter Youth Retreat.

  • Yes!!!! Camp Cedarwood has the ability to provide accommodations for those with food, milk, or airborne allergies so please DO NOT BRING NUTS … also don’t bring a cat in case that wasn’t obvious (;

  • The cost will be just under $150 depending on how many donations are received. We also have 5 youth who are looking to be sponsored to go, so if you’d like to give towards that send financial support in any amount via e-transfer “2025 YR” to donate@nessbaptist.com

  • Yes! If you’d like to provide extra snacks for the Youth or bring some individually in a bag we ask that it does not include any types of nuts.

  • We’re working on getting 1 or 2 buses from other church ministries and connections, but our backup option is to do a carpool train of vans, SUVs and stagecoach wagons .. well maybe not the wagons. Updates will be sent, but for now you can sign up here: CLICK HERE FOR TRANSPORTATION FORM

  • No! Anyone can come. Submit the form.

  • My goal is that any youth should always be able to see or hear a youth leader at all times, unless they are sleeping or using the washroom.

  • We have at least 5 youth who cannot afford to make the youth retreat, but I believe would be benefitted. We also have families with 3 youth who need help ($450 is not cheap) sending the 3rd to the youth retreat.

  • We will need to bring our own TWIN SIZE fitted sheet, sheet, blankets, and pillows.

This goes without saying, but boys and girls will sleep separately.

Any youth found outside of bed from 11pm-7am (unless sickness, or a quick restroom break) will have their parents called immediately. No exceptions.

No one should be in the room of the opposite gender.
