A Weekly update for our Ness Community
JULY 17, 2026
☼ HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
The theme of our Summer in the Psalms this week is “Come and know our good God”. Take a moment and reflect on your week. How have you experienced the goodness of God this week?
Here’s some highlights for us going into this weekend:
💬 The translation service we’re using seems to be working well! We’ve had a new request for Russian, so we are offering that now in place of Ukrainian, and we have available Spanish, Swahili and Korean. We are interested in adding other languages if it is necessary, so let us know if you require support for yourself or someone you want to bring to church. If you want to use the service, there is a QR code that will be on the front of the bulletin. (So sorry for any who were not able to get the translation QR from the slide last week. Unfortunately the QR didn’t print in the bulletin last week, so it’s been double checked this week!) A reminder to bring a headset that you can plug into your phone for audio, or alternatively, you can read the text as it appears—And don’t forget to silence your phone.
🎶 The Worship team is introducing another new song this week. Be sure to take a listen in the Worship section of this update. Scroll to the Worship section or click the Worship button for details.
✉️ Email navigation tip: Each section has an arrow at the bottom right that you can click to scroll back to the menu quickly to see the options again. Email the office to let us know if you’re having challenges with the email and we can help you out or see if improvements can be made.
🔫🏌️♂️ One last reminder that parents are invited to go PAINTBALLING with their Youth, or meet up at the driving range for fun and fellowship. A firepit is also available there. Head to the Youth Section for details.

Our worship time begins with an opportunity for giving and to thank God for all He has provided for us.
Giving in person lets everyone take part and also models the practice of tithing to our children.
Individuals who wish to give in person should include your name and address on your envelope so a number can be assigned to you. Tax receipts are sent in January following the calendar year.

Each week we read a congregational reading together.
This week we will read verses from Psalm 34 together as we “Come and know our Good God”
Nothing replaces meeting together as a church, but if you aren’t able to join us, use this livestream link to watch at home:
MESSAGE PREVIEW
FOUR OBSERVATIONS REGARDING FAITH
Dwight Olney
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. —Hebrews 11:1–2
Sermon questions are posted online each week. Get this week’s questions HERE ► to reflect as you learn.
KIDZ CORNER
Not just for kids!
Adults and kids alike are welcome to download the coloring pages, watch the videos, and keep up with what’s happening in KidZone this summer. It’s a really beautiful curriculum from the creators of the Biggest Bible Storybook, and they’re learning about the prophets. Don’t worry, it’s not a spoiler. The class doesn’t intend to use these parts regularly so it is just a fun way to keep engaged at home over the summer, and hopefully spark some great dinner table conversations with your families.
CHILD DEDICATIONS
Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a gift from the Lord”. Child dedications are an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of children, to recognize and commit this gift to His care, and to commit to raising our children in His ways, with the help of our church family. The church also joins in this commitment to love, support, and pray for the children of our Ness community.
If you are interested in having your child DEDICATED, please fill out this form to let us know ►

The BGC Church at Minitonas experienced flooding, as well as our church in Stonewall who are also providing relief efforts as they work to manage their own crisis. Samaritan’s Purse is launching relief efforts in Swan River, and possibly stonewall. Volunteers are needed and anyone who is able is encouraged to participate in this effort. More information can be found Here ►
Pastor Marcus is also navigating the possibility of putting together a volunteer crew to assist. If this is something that you are interested in, please contact him directly. -
Our team we love to call the “Muscle Crew” could really use some extra hands for event setup. It’s usually a very quick task to setup or tear down but as the saying goes — “Many hands make light work”. If this is a way you can serve, speak to Jon Chapman or email the office to get connected.
-
This team could use a couple more people to join the rotation. If this is something you feel God might be calling you to serve in, please speak to Krista Antonio and/or Jordan Dalzell. Reach out to the office for contact information if required.
-
Helping Hands has paused until fall. This group meets on Thursdays bi-weekly for coffee, fellowship & crafting. Bring a project or join in on quilt making projects supporting local groups in need. Contact Debbie Giesbrecht, Marilyn Walde or the office to connect for the fall.
-
Life Groups are now on break for the summer, and will resume in the fall. If you are not currently in a life group, email the office to get connected in a Life Group this fall. Life Groups are a great way to grow in faith through fellowship with other believers in your church family. If you’d like to host a group in the fall, those opportunities are available as well. We’d love to hear from you. A special thank you to all of our current Life Group Hosts and Leaders!

A fun event —bonding with your parents/teen or competing for King of the Castle? Either way, this event will be a ton of fun. Meet up in the Youth room after church to arrange carpooling to Splatters in New Bothwell. Cost is $34 for rental, paintballs and play. A fire pit is available so bring a snack to roast. We’re planning to be there for 1:30 once rides have been sorted out. If you have any questions let Brennan Miller know.
Want to serve, but need an introduction to a ministry leader? Contact the office to be introduced and make the connection!

Another song we haven’t heard in a while. This one was popular in the early 2000’s. Not familiar? You can listen and learn through the Spotify links.
𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌 𝟏𝟏𝟗: 𝟓𝟖, 𝟔𝟖 𝄞 “𝐈 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭; 𝐛𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝; 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬.”
-
This new song is a telling of truths and a declaration of what we believe.
These are great lyrics to think about, that come from the bridge of this song: “No, I'll never be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ
How could I ever walk away from the One who saved my life?”Psalm 25 reflects these thoughts and reminds us of truth that comes from God alone.
𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌 𝟐𝟓: 𝟐𝟎-𝟐𝟏 𝄞 “𝐎𝐡, 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞! 𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”
-
A Ness favourite that we introduced at Christmas. How good it is to “Magnify the Lord” together!
𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌 𝟑𝟒: 𝟖 𝄞 “𝐎𝐡, 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝! 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐦!”
-
This song dates back to 1999, but the words are much older than that. Read Psalm 36 as you think about the words of this song.
𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌 𝟑𝟔: 𝟕 𝄞 “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞, 𝐎 𝐆𝐨𝐝! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.”
-
What a great song to wrap up our message on faith. We can only have this kind of faith because we are able to place it in the one who is always faithful.
𝐏𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐌 𝟏𝟏𝟕: 𝟐 𝄞 “𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐮𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐃!”
SUMMER IN THE PSALMS
Our worship teams are leading us through the Psalms this summer as we worship together. We’re choosing songs inspired by the Psalms, and for our congregational readings we will read Psalms together. Do you know a song that reflects on, or is inspired by the Psalms? Email Krista or the office to share your song suggestion.
