Our brother, Henry Wiebe went to be with the Lord last Friday. Please pray for comfort for Ada and the family at this time. A funeral will be held at Ness on Monday, September 28th at 1 pm.

Our worship time begins with an opportunity for giving and to thank God for all He has provided for us.
Giving in person lets everyone take part and also models the practice of tithing to our children.
On the last Sunday of each month, we also take a benevolent offering. These funds are used to help individual needs within our community. Benevolent offerings should be clearly marked for Benevolence so that we can allocate them accordingly.
Individuals who wish to give in person should include your name and address on your envelope so a number can be assigned to you. Tax receipts are sent in January following the calendar year.

Each week we read a congregational reading together.
We are currently going through reading a portion from the Psalms each week, for the Summer. The Psalms serve to remind us of God’s faithfulness, and lead us to worship with joy and gratitude for the ways in which he works in our lives.

It is important for us to have our children see and learn the way we worship. It is also important for them to be given space to learn from the Bible in a way that is simple for them to understand, so that from a young age they can grow to know the mighty God that we gather for.
Children up to Grade 5 (Grade 3 in the Summer) begin in the service with us and then are dismissed to go to their classes after the congregational reading. Parents should take their children to Kidzone to sign them in.
Nursery is available for children up to age 3. The nursery is open before the service, and children are welcome to be checked into the Nursery at any time before or during the service. There is also a loft for parents with small children to watch and hear the service from a quiet space.
On Communion Sunday kids are dismissed a little earlier in the worship service so that they can join us again for communion. Parents will be dismissed to collect children before communion takes place, on these Sundays.

Each week one of our elders leads the church in a time of intercessory prayer for a specific need of our church or community.

Each week our Scripture is read by someone in our congregation who has been requested to serve in this way. Engaging our Ness Family is important to us.
We typically read from the English Standard Version (ESV) although sometimes other translations are used instead or as well.

Our message each week comes from the Bible. Usually messages at Ness are following a study through a certain book of scripture although we sometimes have guest speakers who will give a stand-alone message.

We will have the opportunity to take Communion together this Sunday, in remembrance of what Christ has done for us. His body broken and his blood shed in order that we might have life. This justification is beautifully described in Romans 5, which ends with these words: “so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The service closes with a benediction from the Pastor or Speaker. After the service many people mingle and fellowship.

KIDZ CORNER
KIDZONE UP TO GRADE 5!
Kidzone teachers have been hard at work preparing for the new season. This Sunday Kidzone starts back up for all kids ages 3-Grade 5. A reminder that Nursery is always available for children under 3.

It also allows your church committment to make the same committment to lead and guide your children faithfully, and to pray for your family as you carry this responsibility. CHILD DEDICATIONS
Psalm 127:3 says “Children are a gift from the Lord”. Child dedications are an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of children, to recognize and commit this gift to His care, and to commit to raising our children in His ways, with the help of our church family. The church also joins in this commitment to love, support, and pray for the children of our Ness community.

Ali & Zahra arrive in Winnipeg today. We expect they will join us for church next Sunday. Their English will be limited, but we look forward to warmly welcoming them to Ness and learning about each other over the coming months.

Our Thanksgiving offering, will be in support of our Ness Youth, and the upcoming Youth Retreat this winter.
This is a way that each of us can help to build into our young people and provide guidance for the generation that will come behind us. Our young people are a most important part of what happens next for the church, and investing in them is important Kingdom work that we have the privilege of participating in. Brennan has put together a short video to talk about the Youth Retreat that we will watch together on Sunday.

Feeling Creative? The Creative Arts committee could be a great fit for you. This team helps support special events such as the Christmas Program. If this is something you’d like to use your gift for, reach out to Alyx or Markus Buhler, Donna Melsness, Cher Regehr, or Krista Antonio.

Sometimes Items are helpful to ministries and other times, they become a burden as we dont know where or how to use them, or there may be already more than we can use. Space is limited. For this reason, we request that you please fill out THIS FORM ► when you have items to donate to the church. the appropriate ministry leaders can review your request and confirm if your donation can be used or would be better given to someone else who might need it.

Join Rob & Cheryl Simpson for a Thursday evening Life Group. Connect, pray for one another, and study the Word together. Dennis Kawa leads this Life Group which meets weekly on Wednesdays from 7-9PM

Jeanette Olney leads this Life Group which meets regularly every other Thursday afternoon (Thursdays alternating with Helping Hands). They’ll be working through a study called “Grit Don’t Quit” which uses the Apostle Paul as a case study for “cultivating grit through every circumstance”. The next session, is Thursday, September 24th at 1:15. All are welcome.
Life Groups will resume in the fall over Sept/October. If you are not currently in a life group, email the office to get connected in a Life Group this fall. Life Groups are a great way to grow in faith through fellowship with other believers in your church family. If you’d like to host a group in the fall, those opportunities are available as well. We’d love to hear from you. A special thank you to all of our current Life Group Hosts and Leaders!

We’re working on updating the Bulletin board in the foyer with opportunities to sign-up, and calendar items of what is coming up in the life of the church. Email the office if your ministry has an event you would like to have featured for the church, and let us know if information needs to be updated.

This group meets on Thursdays bi-weekly for coffee, fellowship & crafting. Bring a project or join in on quilt making projects supporting local groups in need.

Our team we love to call the “Muscle Crew” could really use some extra hands for event setup. It’s usually a very quick task to setup or tear down but as the saying goes — “Many hands make light work”. If this is a way you can serve, speak to Jon Chapman or email the office to get connected.

We wrapped up our “Summer in the Psalms” last week with Psalm 34’s “Taste and See that the Lord is Good” and then went outdoors and enjoyed a wonderful event by our fellowship team. It was fitting to “taste” many flavours and know that God has blessed us with a diverse and creative world, that we get to enjoy together. Food Truck Sunday is such a fun and beautiful demonstration of the blessings He bestows in food, friends, fellowship, and a family of God.
Behold Christ
As we enter into the fall thanksgiving season, we’re looking at a theme of Beholding Christ. This theme will carry us into our next season which will be Advent, with gratitude and awe. Expect to see this theme woven into our songs and our congregational readings over the coming months.

Youth Workers & Nursery Workers annual volunteer safety meeting, after church. A 10 minute session to review safety protocols. All workers are required to attend in order for us to meet insurance requirements.
Wednesday Evening Lifegroup meets on Wednesdays from 7-9 pm at the Church. This group meets weekly and all are welcome. Speak to Dennis Kawa if you need more information or email the office.

As the final quarter’s calendar takes shape, we’re looking ahead to a Baptism Sunday on December 6th. Baptism is a way of communicating that you have a new identity in Christ. If you are a believer and have not yet been baptized, but would like to, this is a date to consider. Sign Up if you would like to be baptized or to attend baptism classes to see if this is a step you would like to take. Baptism classes typically take place early on the Sundays leading up to the event. DETAILS HERE ►
