Changing Clothes // Colossians 3:1-17
27 October 2024
1. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders have played against each other 145 times throughout their history. The Bombers have won 82, the other team 62. Winnipeg has 12 Grey Cup wins; Saskatchewan 4. What characteristics and traits make a winning team?
2. Why would Paul use clothing as a metaphor for identity, characteristics and traits?
3. What must we “take-off”? Why must we do this? (For example, what’s wrong with harbouring just one or two cases of unforgiveness that you think are justified ?)
4. We are saved not by what we do or have done. We are saved and accepted by God through the imputed righteousness of Christ. So why do we struggle so hard against sin? What if we don’t?
5. What are we to “put on”? Why?
6. How do Verses 1-3 and 15-17 show how all this is to be done? Do you try to do this by yourself?
