READ MARK 6:1-13
Consider these questions when reflecting on this message:
Familiarity and Faith
The people in Jesus’ hometown and even his own family struggled to believe in him. One of the reasons for this was because they were too familiar with Him. In what ways might familiarity (with church, Scripture, or people) be dulling your faith or openness to God’s voice?Listening to Truth from Others
The message challenged us to be open to “prophetic voices” (people speaking biblical truth into our lives). Who in your life has permission to speak honestly into your life, and how can you grow in receiving that input with humility?Trust vs. Self-Reliance
The disciples were sent out with very little, forcing them to depend on God. What “baggage” (comfort, control, possessions, plans) might be hindering your trust in God right now?Living on Mission
Disciples are both called to be with Jesus and sent out on mission. What does “being sent” look like in your everyday life, and what is one practical way you can live that out this week? How do you respond when your message isn’t received?
Jesus prepared the disciples for rejection and told them how to respond. When people resist your faith or beliefs, do you become discouraged, defensive, or something else? What would a faithful response look like?
