READ MARK 9:1-13
Mountain-Top Moments | Peter, James, and John experienced a powerful encounter with Jesus on the mountain. Have you ever had a "mountain-top moment" in your walk with God when His presence, truth, or guidance became especially real to you? How did that experience affect your faith afterward?
Listening to Jesus - part 1 | At the Transfiguration, God said, "This is my beloved Son; listen to Him." Have you made a practice of "listening to Jesus"? How so? What are one or two practical ways you can improve your "listening to Jesus"?
Listening to Jesus - part 2 | What are some areas of your life right now where you know what Jesus is saying, but you find it difficult to obey or trust Him?
Trusting God's Plan | The disciples struggled to accept Jesus' teaching about suffering, rejection, and the cross. Why do you think we often resist God's plans when they involve difficulty or sacrifice? How can we learn to trust Him during challenging seasons?
Living in Light of the Gospel | The sermon emphasized that we are more sinful than we realize, yet more loved in Christ than we dare hope. Which side of that truth is harder for you to believe: your need for grace or God's deep love for you? Why?
Our Future Glory | The Transfiguration not only revealed Jesus' glory but also pointed to the future transformation of believers. How does the promise that God is transforming you now and will one day make you complete encourage you in your current struggles, disappointments, or weaknesses?
